INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Every March 8 is celebrated as International Women's Day (IWD). This commemoration is the result of an agreement in fighting for women's rights to work, vote and end discrimination.

To measure the achievement gap between women and men, BPS measures the Gender Inequality Index (IKG) using a three-dimensional approach, namely reproductive health, empowerment and the labor market. Indonesia's IKG in 2022 is 0.459, down from the previous year. Reducing gender inequality is influenced by improvements in the dimensions of reproductive health and empowerment.
