Sumatera Selatan's Economy in Quarter I-2023 Decreases 0.11 Percent (q-to-q)

Abstract

The economy of Sumatera Selatan Province based on the size of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the first quarter of 2023 reached IDR 151.14 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 86.63 trillion.
The economy of Sumatera Selatan Province in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter experienced a growth contraction of 0.11 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security Business Fields experienced the deepest contraction of 13.06 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) contracted by 47.82 percent.
The economy of Sumatera Selatan Province in the first quarter of 2023 experienced growth of 5.11 (y-on-y). From the production side, the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field experienced the highest growth of 13.35 percent. From the Expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Foreign Export Component, which was 38.27 percent.
