WORLD CANCER DAY

World Cancer Day is a global commemoration by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to increase awareness, education and action regarding the prevention, detection and self-treatment of cancer.

According to National Today, World Cancer Day was inaugurated on February 4 2000 at the World Summit in Paris.

The Global Burden of Cancer Study (Globocan) from the World Health Organization (WHO) noted that the number of cancer cases in Indonesia in 2020 reached 396,914 cases. It is recognized by WHO that cancer is one of the main causes of death worldwide.
