Based on the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), South Sumatra Province is one of the provinces with the largest reduction in stunting rates in Indonesia along with South Kalimantan and North Kalimantan Provinces with a decrease from 24.8 to 18.6.

By reducing the stunting rate, South Sumatra Province has become the 9th province with the lowest stunting rate, even lower than the national stunting rate.
